LMtrace® unravels Retinal Ganglion Cell Anatomy

Summary

Contributing to solving the puzzle of the visual circuitry, Dr. Katja Reinhard and colleagues used LMtrace® to reconstruct the shape of hundreds of retinal ganglion cells. In their publication A projection specific logic to sampling visual inputs in mouse superior colliculus, the morphology of more than 650 cells was assessed and compared to electrophysiological recordings. Integrating cellular information with behavioral responses, is a key research target in neuroscience. With this multidisciplinary study, Reinhard et al. added important insights into how information from the sensory periphery is integrated by higher order brain regions.
