AI Software Engineering Intern: Microscopy Data Analysis
Are you fascinated by applying computer science to biological discovery?
Does the idea of using artificial neural networks to understand real,
biological neural networks excite you? Are you curious, ambitious,
hardworking and love to learn and grow your technical skills? Does working
in a team that’s passionate about accelerating biomedical research with
innovative software sound awesome to you?
In this internship, you will leverage the Python scientific stack,
TypeScript or C++ to apply cutting-edge deep learning workflows to
challenging R&D data in biomedical microscopy.
Example Projects
Developing and/or testing novel deep learning models.
Building user-facing products and features leveraging those models.
Applying them to clients’ research questions.
Key Requirements
Life-long curiosity-driven learner.
Growth mindset and commitment to excellence.
Knowledge of Python.
Excellent understanding of basic computer science (algorithms, data
structures, software engineering principles).
Student of natural sciences, mathematics, computer science, or similar
fields. Alternatively, any other subject if you can demonstrate a
strong record of successful software development (e.g., through
open-source contributions).
Excellent academic record.
Strong English-language communication skills.
Ability to work in Germany (legally and logistically).
Optional
Knowledge of TypeScript and/or C++.
Experience with image processing.
Experience with Python data science stack (NumPy, SciPy, etc.).
Experience with artificial neural networks.
